Hello, Our organization is called MOTIV8S. We are a Social Learning program with a 501c3 status. The question I would like to have answered is as follows: Are there any possibilities that a vacant home might be donated to a non-profit organization?
I would also like to invite VacantRichmond to our upcoming festival.April 25, 2007
Dear VacantRichmond Members:
MOTIV8S Inc., would like to invite VacantRichmond to our 6th Annual “Citywide” Recognition Day Celebration scheduled for July 7, 2007 at Byrd Park-Shield’s Lake in the City of Richmond. Time: 12-8PM. Cost to the public: FREE
Objective: To bring unity in the community by providing an event designed to build positive partnerships between city residents, the faith community, local for-profit businesses and local non profit community outreach organizations. We will include health screenings, educational speakers, employment assistance, free food and drinks, live entertainment and three free youth and adult raffles with great giveaways.
The MOTIV8S Citywide Recognition Day Celebration is important to our community because it partners for profit businesses, law enforcement agencies, schools, civic organizations, non profit (CBO’s) and the general community together in unity.
Additionally, it provides a safe family environment and reward system for youth and adults through gift incentives and public acknowledgment which builds healthy self esteem, self worth and community awareness.
At MOTIV8S we place strong focus on personal, community and business involvement believing that healthy partnerships are the keys to making Richmond a safer place to live, work and play for all.
Thank you for embracing MOTIV8S and making it yours so that success can be ours. We hope you will attend.
Sincerely,
M. Jerry Bagby,
President & CEO

Mr. Bagby’s ethic of service has impressed me. As the founder of “MOTIV8S” Mr. Bagby has unquestionably touched the lives of others in a significant way. Yet, this commitment to public service is neither abstract nor lofty. It is reflected in his daily interactions with people. Mr. Bagby has distinguished himself in my mind as an individual dedicated to making a difference in both great and small ways.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
This letter is written in strong support of the exceptional work of Jerry Bagby and the organization that he directs, Motiv8s Inc. Jerry has a laser like focus and extraordinary commitment to working to turn around and raise up the lives of those who have become addicted to substances and who are homeless.
He is out in our community pursuing this mission with or without offices, with or without money and with or without support from government agencies. This makes him very special.
In the nearly thirteen years that I have been a Judge (two of them as a drug court judge) I have written perhaps, four letters of commendation for service providers. Thus, it is a very rare situation in which I write a letter like this. However, the work that Jerry Bagby has done over the years is very special and deserves special consideration.
Sincerely,
Richard D. Taylor, Jr.
Judge
